Installation on linux x64

Added by Cédric Boutelier over 12 years ago

Hi,
In order to automate a process of publishing a website across different domains (sandbox, production…), I wanted to give Nirva Application Platform a try.
I could not install the platform on a 64 bit Fedora 14 server. It could not link with ld-linux.so, which I suppose is due to the 64 bits architecture.
Have you ever tried to install it on such a platform? If not, have you ever tried to compile it with x64 libs?

Keep going,

Cédric

Hi Cedric

Yes we made installation on 64 bits linux servers (32 bits version of Nirva) but it requires some linux packages (stdlib5 and maybe others). We are currently working on the 64 version of Nirva, the Windows x64 version is in beta test for now (avaliable on request) and the linux version should be available for the end of this year. I try to ask some of our specialists to answer for the installation of the 32 bits version on 64 bits server.

Hi,

in fact it's really tricky to install Nirva in a Linux 64 bits, because of all 32 bits packages dependencies for the Nirva Platform and for all 32 bits services. So, the best way is to use a chroot environnement in which you should to install a Linux 32 bits.

Thanks for your help,

I personally don’t want to mess my servers with chroot env. I would rather build another VM with 32bits OS and move my apps and services to the 64 bits platform once it will be available and stable, if nirva fit my needs.
Thanks for your time and keep going.
